Adidas Originals have produced some of the most recognisable designs and silhouettes over the years including the Gazelles, Superstars and the Samba to name a few. With re-releases of many styles coming out in various materials and colourways each season, Adidas are constantly reinventing themselves to keep the brand at the forefront of the extremely competitive sneaker scene.

Adidas are the proud owners of the ZX family, which made huge waves in the running scene in the late 80’s. The ZX style over the years has become the heart and sole of running, with a huge number of athletes choosing the style over many other brands and designs. Trying to stay recent and bringing some fresh ideas to the table, the adidas team brought out the ZX Flux in SS14.

Keeping enough of the DNA of the original ZX but striping the designs back to its bare bones, adidas produced a simple and versatile trainer with cutting-edge technology and materials, shaking up the sneaker world. The only elements from the original that was kept included the heel stabiliser and the torsion tool bar, which has become as famous as the shoe itself. The toe was completely re-engineered, taking all the reinforcement out to give extra movement. The 1 piece upper which was initially introduced in the first season of the Flux, using photo prints with the depth never seen before on materials has become a favourite in the Flux styles.
