Nike Air Max Day

Nike’s celebration of all things Air is once again upon us, and the Swoosh have a steady stream of treats lined up. As part of last year’s event, Nike enlisted the help of Hiroshi Fujiwara, legendary head of cult label Fragment Design and part of Nike’s cutting edge HTM design team, to create a brand new silhouette: the LD Zero. Fusing an upper design based on Nike’s LD-1000 running shoe from the 1970s with the full-length 360 Air sole unit first introduced in 2006, the new model blended the simple, unfussy design of the LD-1000 with cutting-edge Nike tech to create an instant classic.

This year the LD-Zero returns for its one-year anniversary, this time decked out in a sleek all-black colourway with dark grey accents. The technical specs of the original remain intact: lightweight mesh uppers with synthetic suede overlays, cushioned footbed with breathable mesh and premium leather linings, Flywire lace stays for extra support throughout the forefoot, and a sole unit with full-length visible Air bubble for that walking-on-air comfort and a strikingly modern look. Finished with a vintage-style tongue label as a nod to its classic DNA, this drop marks yet another high-point in the Air Max Day release calendar for 2017.

The Nike LD-Zero in Black will be available from Aphrodite Clothing on Air Max Day: March 26th, priced at £135.00. These will also be available to pre-order on Saturday 25th March 2017 in-store only.
