Stone Island Jeans

Stone Island clothing is a brand that we are very proud to be able to sell at Aphrodite.  New to our store for 2012, Stone Island was a popular choice from the moment we announced it.  Originally formed in 1982, it is said that the brand was created by chance.  Originally called C.P Company, it was the frontrunner of all Italian casual clothing brands.  Created by renowned Italian graphic designer Massimo Osti, the company was at the forefront of taking army surplus clothing and producing fantastic ranges of clothing.  On day a heavy tarpaulin material arrived for Massimo to work with.  He set about putting it in a washing machine with water and pumice stones.  The resulting fabric had a stunning feel to it but it was outside of the bracket of clothing that CP clothing created.  The decision was made to create a new brand to showcase 7 jackets made from this new fabric.  Stone Island was born.
