Adidas have reconstructed the iconic Samba for 2018

Adidas lovers rejoice, the brand with the three stripes have given the Samba a modified make-over for 2018.

The Samba Recon presents a new take on the classic retro trainer, which was first released in 1950 with the intention to be worn to play football indoors. The Samba has now not only become the second best selling Adidas trainer but has earned its stripes in the world of streetwear as a classic. Admired mostly by the sartorialists, celebrities such as Kanye West and Dave Grohl have stepped out in a pair of Sambas.

The updated Samba Recon is made up of a premium leather upper, in either a clean white or sleek black colour-way. The upper is given a sports luxe boost with coordinating suede overlays to the toe cap and statement three stripes,  a signature stamp of any Adidas trainer. The clean stitching and neutral colour-way bring versatility to the trainer, ensuring wearability and timeless style.

One standout feature of the Samba this time around is the elongated leather tongue, which can be styled differently depending on preference. Style the tongue flat over the laces, make a statement by leaving it to stand or simply tuck it into the shoe for a more subtle look. One thing that stays the same is the authentic rubber gum sole, originally put into place in the 50’s for a firm grip on the ground when the shoe was worn for sports.

Stitch and turn detail is used on the branded heel counter, which boasts the well-known trefoil motif. Comfort is brought into the mix, with added Ortholite liner for performance benefits.

The new and improved Samba is an example of Adidas’ superior craftsmanship and determination to keep every iconic silhouette fresh and on trend.
