Merging the worlds of fierce performance driven design and contemporary styling capabilities, the sneaker, born out of the combined efforts of, you guessed it, both adidas and multi-medium master Pharrell Williams, not only radiates buckets full of casual athleisure appeal but, acts as a catalyst for the best in both sportswear technology and creative expression to thrive.

With unapologetic colour blocking seen as a staple of the collaborations offering since its inception in 2014, this next partnered venture takes things in a totally different direction, replacing vibrant, punchy hues for subtle monochromatic uniformity. Giving the sneakers a real sense of grounded appeal, this vastly different visual approach highlights the technical nuance of the SolarHu’s unique silhouette bringing to the fore both pinpoint alterations and the diverse similarities it shares with its Ultra Boost counterpart.

Keeping the pairings core messages of love, hope, inclusivity and equality central to this latest release, the runners stick to the same winning formula which has earned them a place amongst some of the most revered footwear in the market. Deploying a double-helping of mesh and prime knit to their uppers, the SolarHu conforms it’s multi-material application to the shape of the foot allowing the intrinsically stretchy fabric to compliment the wearers movement, provide an improved fit and offer up additional support.

Below a substantial wedge of BOOST foam, moulded heel counter and Continental rubber stretch web outsole not only compliment the foots natural motion but add a generous dose of cushioning, traction and energy return capabilities.

Aside from advanced details and athletic augmentations the trainers still look as good as ever, retaining a number of toned down fan-favourite sign offs and trademark flourishes. Featuring an embroidered Hu callout to the toebox, tonal triangle branding and printed adidas tongue, the trainers are imbued with a plethora of reflective detailing, rounding out proceedings with an extra functional finishing touch.
