Ami or Alexandre Mattiusi for those of us with an affinity for French fashion are certainly never one to disappoint, especially when it comes to putting together some of the finest contemporary wears, we’ve had the pleasure of setting our eyes upon.

Falling firmly into the category of brands that prioritise timeless design and well-put together silhouettes over the everchanging winds of trends and fads, Ami have been effortlessly pumping out quality garments since 2013 encapsulating the youthful, laidback Parisian cool found littered throughout the cobbled streets of the capital city of love. Meaning ‘friend’ in French Ami are certainly a companion worth keeping close, proving time and time again their ability to blur the lines that stand between the worlds of casual outfitting and chic tailoring, bringing a more authentic and comprehensive approach to modern day menswear staples.

With all that in mind we thought we would pull together a few of our favourite bits from the recent collection that tick all the boxes when it comes to looks, quality and that all important je ne sais quoi x factor.

Demonstrating an eye for the finer details, this denim jacket from Ami is certainly high on our list of favourite things made from the perpetually stylish, cotton-based fabric. Featuring a zig zagged stitch design down the central button placket, panelled side pockets and a subtle leather patch to the back it’s bursting at the seams with a menagerie of understated talking points. Dress it up with your best smart shirt or in this case down with a colour blocked, pullover hoodie and you’ve got yourself a winner no matter the occasion.

If like us you find yourself waiting for spring to finally get it’s finger out than you will more than likely have some seriously indecisive trans-seasonal weather on your hands. Luckily Ami have provided us with the perfect solution when it comes to dealing with this unpredictably awkward foe in the shape of the half-zip sweatshirt. Coming equipped with a high neck and aforementioned half-zip combo they provide the perfect on-the-go solution when it comes to both warming up and cooling down with a front kangaroo pouch pocket, embroidered branding and dart shoulders bringing that classic refined Ami edge.

Below Ami somehow manage to extract the very essence of summer and inject it into everyone’s favourite button-down wardrobe workhorse, updating a classic Oxford with the addition of some delightful yellow striping and the ever-familiar embroidered Ami de couer logo to the chest.

Next up we have Ami’s take on the ever-popular rugby shirt. Featuring a concealed three-button placket, lightweight 100% cotton construction and a bold striped design typical of sporting jerseys from years gone by it would not only look perfectly at home enjoying a cool afternoon in the vineyards of Bordeaux but three players deep in the scrum on a dreary Sunday morning.
