What makes Nudie Jeans unique in terms of style and sustainability?

Well, as our tagline says – we’re trying to create tomorrow’s vintage. That is, clothes that become more beautiful the more you wear and repair them. We envision future classics, not future landfills, embracing ethical fashion and encouraging our customers to do so.

How does Nudie Jeans incorporate repair and reuse into its brand ethos?

Every pair of Nudie jeans comes with a promise of free repairs forever. We repair your jeans in our Nudie Jeans Repair Shops or travelling Repair Stations (which have been at Aphrodite in the past!), with the help of repair partners, and through our touring mobile repair station. And if the day comes when you grow tired of your old pair, we want them back. Every Nudie Jeans Repair Shop is packed with preloved jeans looking for new owners.

How does the use of organic, sustainable materials benefit Nudie Jeans and its customers?

Using organic cotton and other sustainable materials makes us feel good about ourselves, but it’s not benefiting our business. A shortcut to faster growth would be to skip all the painstaking work we put in just because we care about the planet. It benefits our customers because they, like most of us, live on planet earth. It also greatly benefits everyone involved in the process of farming and producing the materials for our clothes, since they don’t have to work with hazardous substances.

Could you describe Nudie Jeans’ approach to sizing and how customers can find their perfect fit?

We ask our colleagues at our headquarters in Gothenburg to wear our clothes and give us the lowdown on how they age over time. This insider info is invaluable because our designers and pattern makers work together to create pieces that are not just meant to be worn for a brief moment, but for years to come. Plus, we have denim experts in our repair shops all around the world. The denim knowledge among our retail staff is, no doubt, next level. To add to that, our Account managers travel up and down the country to pass on as much information as possible to our wholesale partners.

How do Nudie Jeans stay connected with the ever-changing tastes and preferences of denim enthusiasts?

We leave trends to the fashion industry. Instead of following the latest hypes, we stick to fits and models that inspire us. And since we’re not H&M, we don’t have to cater to everyone’s taste. We just have to do our thing and trust that enough people will like it. While Nudie Jeans has a strong online presence and community engagement

How does customer feedback influence the brand’s decisions and innovations?

That’s a great question! We definitely listen to everyone, and they influence what we do, a lot. But at the same time, we have to stay true to our taste and values. So, I guess the answer is that we listen to people as long as we share tastes and values. At the same time, we need friends. Lots of friends. We can’t change the industry on our own, so building a massive community of people who give a sh*t is a priority!

adidas x Wales Bonner Samba & Apparel Collection AW23

Launching at Aphrodite on Wednesday 8th November 2023 at 9 am…

adidas and Grace Wales Bonner team up once again for yet another stunning collaboration. Taking a more refined approach for AW23, the duo opted to harness their creativity and eye-catching designs without influence from external factors such as specific time periods or places of interest. The result? A stunning collection of adidas Samba trainers that seem to be as contemporary as they are classic. Take a look at the soon-to-be-released trainers below:

adidas x Wales Bonner Samba Trainers in Leopard Print

The standout pair of the bunch, these leopard print pony hair trainers are wild to say the least (excuse the subtle animal pun). They arrive with a contrast blue lining, a white leather heel, tongue and stripes and feature exposed stitching. Underfoot a gum sole ties in with the colourway of the printed pattern, rounding off the look. If we were to edge our bets, this will be the pair that flies off of the shelves first, as with all adidas x Wales Bonner releases the kicks with more flair become fan-favourites.

Here’s what our online editor Kenzie had to say on them… “A brilliant stand-out trainer that can really add a pop of colour to any outfit. I’d recommend wearing these with light denim jeans such as some Nudie’s or Edwin’s, and add the cream adidas x Wales Bonner tee into the mix for a easy-to-wear ‘fit.”

One of the pairs that are better suited for everyday wear, this black and white colourway helps to tone down the silhouette and offers a great entryway for those who aren’t so sure about the idea of pony hair on their kicks. (Which btw we are deffo a fan of!) The contrast stitching and classic three stripes really completes this pair, with a gum sole giving those classic Samba vibes.

Our online editor Joe says ” I love the way the black and white colourway works with the oversized tongue to give the feel of a proper classic football boot. I think its really cool that Wales Bonner has made an effort to pay homage to the Samba trainers roots as a footballing icon.”

The same tonal look as the above but with an extra pop of colour. We think this pair really exaggerates the pony hair upper with the white colourway meaning that light bounces off the material in a way that highlights the kicks really well. Again, with a gum sole, classic three stripes and oversized tongue, we think adidas and Wales Bonner are onto something with this aesthetic.

We asked marketing assistant Lewis for his thoughts… “You see a combination of white and burgundy across almost all adidas trainers, its a classic colourway and always works. Here throwing pony hair into the mix really elevates the silhouette giving it a little extra flair.”

A bit of a difference with this pair as they arrive in a nylon upper rather than the pony hair seen on the other iterations. A suede appears on the toe-box and eyelets while a contrast leather heel completes a trinity of upper materials. Underfoot a darker brown gum sole is added as a subtle contrast to the upper, while a bright blue sock-liner adds a hint of boldness to the model.

Marketing Executive Dom thinks that these are the pick of the bunch… “While I really love what adidas and Wales Bonner have done with the pony hair on the other models, for me its all about being able to rock a pair of trainers everyday. You’ll get a durability with the nylon pair that you’d otherwise have to forfeit for the pony hair editions, as nice as they are. This colourway is spot on in my eyes
