New Balance 550: Fresh Colourways Available Now

Here at Aphrodite, we are happy to welcome not one, but two new colourways into our ever-growing repertoire of New Balance 550s. The first features a more subdued palette, donning a tasteful combination of burgundy and navy appliques, while the second pair sport more vibrant iterations of marine and sapphire blues, depicting a scene reminiscent of varying depths of the ocean.

New Balance 550s have been commanding attention on the court since 1989, and have experienced a recent revival within the fashion-sphere thanks to the attentive eye of Aimé Leon Dore creative Teddy Santis in 2020 after having spotted them in an old team photo.

The growing popularity of the pair can be further attributed to the resurgence of the “dad trainer,” a trend spearheaded by celebrity endorsements from the likes of Jack Harlow, Emily Ratajkowski, and Justin Bieber. New Balance have become renowned for their quality and comfort, so with their trusted craftmanship coupled with today’s global trainer hype, we think it is fair to say that the 550s are here to stay.

Adidas Gazelle Drops in ‘Blue’ and ‘Red’

Sporting bold tones and vintage styling

The Adidas Gazelle is a mainstay within the German brand’s offerings and has become the pinnacle of terrace footwear, thanks to its incredibly versatile and distinctive style. As we head into December two fresh colourways of the model will be gracing the shelves at Aphrodite.

Arriving in vivid shades of Red and Blue, the latest iteration of the iconic silhouette sees Adidas look to the archives in order to revive the classic foam tongue, reminiscent of 80s styling. Each trainer is constructed using a soft suede upper, contrasted by off white leather lining, heel tabs and three stripes. The brands trefoil logo appears on a classic tongue tab as well as being debossed onto the heel, while gold foil branding accompanies the brands logo’s on the trainers’ side panelling.

New Balance 9060 arrives in ‘Truffle’ and ‘Ivory Cream’

Available Now

Initially released earlier this year, the New Balance 9060 is the latest silhouette to make its mark on the sneaker industry. Offering a dose of retro-futurism, the 9060 combines the Boston based brands timeless aesthetic with a modernized sole unit for a uniquely distinctive design.

As we head into December the model is receiving two fresh makeovers as it’s dowsed in earthy tones of ‘Ivory Cream’ and ‘Truffle’.

The ‘Truffle’ model offers a dichromatic upper with the mesh and suede materials being engulfed by complimentary Burgundy and Dark gray colouring. While underfoot the brand have opted to throw an additional grayish-green heel unit into the mix, as it acts as a basis for the oversized sole to latch on to.

‘Ivory Cream’ looks to the other end of the colour spectrum, with a monochromatic pale pink upper being disrupted by a silver ‘N’ logo. To the chunky sole New Balance have again decided to utilise the heel as a blank canvas, with baby blue colouring offering a complimentary contrast to the cream-like tones that cover the sneaker.

Adidas Jeans Trainers – A Terrace Classic

Initially released way back in 1976, the Adidas Jeans silhouette has never faltered in its popularity.

The model was designed with the purpose of effortlessly pairing with denim, and has since became an archival classic that us three stripes fans all know and love. This iteration ditches the suede uppers seen on previous models in favour of a more robust and durable Cordura® fabric; A synthetic fabric, Cordura has been used in a number of military-use items such as rucksacks and trousers thanks to the incredible longevity it offers, alongside its abrasion resistant and water repellent properties, so you can guarantee that it’s going to hold up on the terraces.

Underfoot a black mudguard offers further protection and durability while complimenting the military-like olive green tones of the upper, and to ensure traction a gum outsole is featured, complete with a trefoil logo tread. The silhouette has been decorated with a Cordura Tab and gold foil branding. Of course, no Adidas trainer is complete without the legendary three stripes, which in this case arrive in olive to offer a monochromatic visual across the models upper.

New Balance 2002R Protection Pack – Launch Info!

The New Balance 2002R ‘Protection Pack’ is back… and we’ve got two stunning new colourways heading your way.

New Balance have been killing the footwear game this year, the brand are truly on top of the world when it comes to trainer releases and a prime example of that is the 2002R Protection Pack. Selling out the second it hits the shelves at… well literally anywhere, the Protection Pack offers the 2002R silhouette with a rugged and distressed aesthetic, one that you lot clearly can’t get enough of.

Previously dropping in more understated colourways such as ‘Raincloud’ or ‘Grey Mirage’, the 2002R hasn’t really been seen to rock colour, that is until now. Launching at 3PM on the 26/10/22 at Aphrodite, the 2002R Protection Pack is dropping in vivid colourways of ‘Light Artic Grey’ and ‘Lilac Chalk’.

As always these kicks offer a super breathable mesh toe-box that’s intruded upon by rip-like multi-tonal suede overlays. To the shoes side panelling, ‘N’ branding is stitched alongside a more discreet 2002R motif. Underfoot the use of N-Ergy technology and the brands stability web combine to offer incredible comfort cushioning and support. A combination of on-trend styling and timeless comfort, it really doesn’t get better than this.

Liam Gallagher x Clarks Originals

Launching on the 21st of October at Aphrodite.

Clarks and Liam Gallagher have joined forces to revive the iconic rambler silhouette. Last seen kicking about in the early 2010’s, the Clarks Rambler offers a timeless, ever contemporary style. A style that is synonymous with the one and only Mr Liam G himself.

The ex-Oasis front man has had a longstanding admiration towards the British brands footwear, and has often been seen proudly rocking silhouettes such as the Desert Trek and the Wallabee throughout the years. So when the lads at Aphrodite got the news of an upcoming collaborative project between the two, it simply made perfect sense, and got us incredibly excited in the process.

And for good reason, the finished project offers a shoe that is exemplary of Clarks’ unparalleled craftsmanship and quality, and is injected with Liam Gallagher’s uniquely distinctive aesthetic.

The shoe is made in Portugal, and has had no detail overlooked. With an upper comprised of a supple suede and premium leather detailing, Clarks have opted to deboss Liam Gallagher’s face to the heel, while both Clarks and LG branding appear on the lace tags. Underfoot Clarks’ signature crepe sole offers superlative cushioning and comfort on an ergonomic footbed. The shoes arrive with a separate pair of laces for styling versatility, and are boxed in a special edition LG Rambler shoe-box with co-branding decorating each face.

Available in extremely limited quantities from a small group of dedicated Clarks retailers, including Aphrodite, the LG Rambler will launch on 21/10/22. Due to an incredible amount of demand, the collab is expected to fly off of the shelves, so act fast to avoid disappointment.

Fresh New Balance 9060 Colourways

Launching on the 3rd of September 2022

The New balance 9060 silhouette has already proven to be a hit. Previously arriving in a Joes Fresh Goods collaboration ,as well as beige and brown colourways, the brand are seemingly sticking to more understated tones as they ready the release of the model in both black and grey.

Maintaining the 9060’s quality construction and luxury appearance, the Boston based brand have once again opted for breathable mesh as a base in the shoes upper, with supple suede and premium leather overlays engulfing the upper. The trainers wavy side panelling is only complimented by the chunky sculpted pod midsole which places an exaggerated emphasis on the familiar cushioning platforms of ABZORB and SBS.

The model’s colourways will be available online and in-store at Aphrodite Clothing on 03/09/22.

Lanvin’s latest Curb Trainer embraces chunky visuals

A fresh take on the skatewear inspired silhouette

Initially released in Autumn/Winter 22, Lanvin’s Curb Trainers have proved a hit for the Parisian fashion house. The model has arrived in an abundance of fresh colourways since its initial release, however the shape and style of the shoe has remained untouched, that is, until now.

A fresh take on the Curb Trainer sees the brand’s iconic kimono lacing dropped in place of a more chunky collection of monochromatic laces, complimenting the oversized tongue and exaggerated form of the shoe. As always, the trainers are incredibly well made, crafted in Portugal using a breathable mesh as the base of the shoe and offering a distinctive style thanks to wavy calf leather side panelling. Large metal eyelets hold the enlarged laces while further metal detailing also appears on the oversized tongue in the form of Lanvin branding.

The Curb Trainers are finished with debossed Lanvin branding to the side panelling and arrive in a blacked-out colourway. Pick up a pair for yourself, available online and in-store now.
