The Explorer and Metropolis Jackets return as CP Company launch their spring/summer collection. 

Dubbed ‘Natural Mutations’ CP Company’s SS21 collection focuses on the core principles that sit central to the brand’s design philosophy. Incorporating plenty of technical in-house fabrics, militaristic detailing and deep hues spanning more natural tones, this first snippet of their newest collection also brings with it some fan-favourite familiars.

For those looking for a new addition to their overshirt line-up, this collection, in typical CP fashion, brings plenty to choose from. Whether you prefer the iridescent sheen and metallic charm of the brand’s Chrome nylon fabric, or prefer the more traditional cotton garbadine, a selection of bespoke shades including, burnt ochre, sandstalk and laurel wreath ensure something suited to every palette. Elsewhere the collection builds upon the recently revived, ‘Urban Protection’ series welcoming a new zipped hoodie to the line-up complete with auxiliary pocket overlays for a utilitarian finish, whilst two heavy hitter jackets see their familiar silhouettes given technical updates.

 

 

CP Company Ventile Explorer Jacket

If your a fan of the brand then no doubt you are familiar with the Explorer Jacket. The first style born under founder Massimo Osti’s reign to come equipped with goggles, it remains one of the most cherished styles from the CP Company archives. An undeniable piece of casual culture history, the jacket comes Reimagined for SS21 with a performance focused VENTILE fabric.

Made in England since 1943 VENTILE is a historic material when it comes to outerwear created through the process of weaving together loose cotton fibres, resulting in a fabric that is not only durable but completely organic. Originally designed for pilots in World War II to combat the freezing temperatures of water, the fabric boasts both water and wind proof properties as well as exceptional breathability.

Equipped with the iconic goggle detailed large collar which zips up across the face, the jacket boasts military inspired auxiliary pockets to the chest as well as two zip secured top entry pockets below. With branded detailing forward facing, the jacket is further enhanced with adjustable drawcords to the hem to keep out any unwanted breeze. Finished with colour blocked detailing, the lens viewer can be found to the lower sleeve for bonus points when it comes to functionality and style.

CP Company Metropolis Tracery Jacket

Another of the brand’s, ‘Urban Protection’ line, the Metropolis Jacket finds itself the subject of CP Company’s newest technique. Crafted from Memri, a purposely creased fabric which is made from combining a densely woven polyester and nylon micro-fibre canvas, the garment is treated to the, ‘tracery’ effect. Overprinted using sublimation, heat, pressure and time are used in unison to achieve a unique three dimensional finish which casts artificial shadows to highlight the jackets key points of interest.

Naturally water repellent, the Metropolis Jacket is further enhanced with a number of pockets to keep possessions close to hand, whilst its adjustable hood and built in face mask ensure ample elemental protection. Finished with a removable velcro patch and central storm flap covering, this newest take is not only a certified head turner but marks CP Company’s commitment to evolutionary experimentation.
