It only takes half an eye on the fashion world to determine that sportswear is massive right now, with sweatshirts, track pants and sneakers dominating both the streets and the runways. Having demonstrated their own spin on sportswear with the recent Knit Sock Boot, Maison Margiela are back once more with this deconstructed take on the classic tracksuit. Boasting strong 70s vibes in mix of neutral colours, the top and bottoms both feature luxe black silk detailing to elevate them above the norm. What really takes things to the next level, though, is the ‘inside out’ reverse seam construction found on the jacket; a quintessentially Margiela detail that fully encapsulates the brand’s attention to detail.

While the duo are clearly intended to be worn as a set, each would work equally well as part of other outfits. The silk side-stripe on the trousers would bring some subtle flash to any everyday outfit, while the jacket is ideal for layering with your favourite off-duty or tailored pieces. However you choose to wear it, we reckon Margiela are onto another winner with this one.
