Pantofola d’Oro is a footwear company founded in the mountains of southern Italy with a 127-year-strong reputation for its tradition, attention to detail, fine craftsmanship, and quality of leather. The phrase Pantofola d’Oro literally translates into English as the ‘golden slipper’. The brand is defined as ‘a thoroughbred Italian brand, stylish from tip to toe, and elegant to the core. A sporty soul, infused with a healthy dose of Italian machismo and luxury’.

Founded in 1886 by the Lazzarini family, who were shoemakers from Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Pantofola d’Oro prided themselves on the skills of their master craftsmen, who, today, are still using the same handcrafting techniques as those used back in 1886. The brand’s notoriety was high in Italy and by the 1950s Pantofola d’Oro was gaining international recognition for their fine craftsmanship. Worldwide superstar athletes and footballers such as Ferenc Puskas, Roberto Mancini, Johan Cruyff, and John Barnes were all seen wearing Pantofola d’Oro football boots. The Italian brand was and still is the only footwear manufacture hand-producing football boots.

Pantofola d’Oro wanted to connect the modern-day trainer to their proud heritage of manufacturing football boots. The idea for the Pantofola d’Oro Modena silhouette was to mimic the classic black boot of the ’80s with its distinctive side stripe, heel tab, and bouncing ball logo, all signature hallmarks to the brand’s footballing roots.
