CP Company Ventile Explorer Jacket

CP Company Ventile Explorer Jacket

If your a fan of the brand then no doubt you are familiar with the Explorer Jacket. The first style born under founder Massimo Osti’s reign to come equipped with goggles, it remains one of the most cherished styles from the CP Company archives. An undeniable piece of casual culture history, the jacket comes Reimagined for SS21 with a performance focused VENTILE fabric.

Made in England since 1943 VENTILE is a historic material when it comes to outerwear created through the process of weaving together loose cotton fibres, resulting in a fabric that is not only durable but completely organic. Originally designed for pilots in World War II to combat the freezing temperatures of water, the fabric boasts both water and wind proof properties as well as exceptional breathability.

Equipped with the iconic goggle detailed large collar which zips up across the face, the jacket boasts military inspired auxiliary pockets to the chest as well as two zip secured top entry pockets below. With branded detailing forward facing, the jacket is further enhanced with adjustable drawcords to the hem to keep out any unwanted breeze. Finished with colour blocked detailing, the lens viewer can be found to the lower sleeve for bonus points when it comes to functionality and style.

CP Company Tracery Metropolis Jacket

CP Company Metropolis Tracery Jacket

Another of the brand’s, ‘Urban Protection’ line, the Metropolis Jacket finds itself the subject of CP Company’s newest technique. Crafted from Memri, a purposely creased fabric which is made from combining a densely woven polyester and nylon micro-fibre canvas, the garment is treated to the, ‘tracery’ effect. Overprinted using sublimation, heat, pressure and time are used in unison to achieve a unique three dimensional finish which casts artificial shadows to highlight the jackets key points of interest.

Naturally water repellent, the Metropolis Jacket is further enhanced with a number of pockets to keep possessions close to hand, whilst its adjustable hood and built in face mask ensure ample elemental protection. Finished with a removable velcro patch and central storm flap covering, this newest take is not only a certified head turner but marks CP Company’s commitment to evolutionary experimentation.

CP Company Taylon P Jacket

Revealing the latest addition to their function-first arsenal of key outerwear pieces, the CP Company Taylon P Jacket marks the brand’s return to its roots, reinstating the 1998 Urban Protection line alongside a pool of military influences and hyper technical innovation.

Originally developed to make clothing suited to the needs of city dwelling folks, the Urban Protection Series was created by Moreno Ferrari’s during his time spent at the helm of the Italian sportswear brand. Taking wildly futuristic concepts, the collection gave way to some of the most left field designs in CP Company’s history including the LIFE Parka which saw built in noise cancelling earphones, the voice recording REM jacket and the LED jacket, a piece capable of detecting levels of air pollution.

CP Company Taylon P Face Mask Jacket

Carrying on the forward-thinking vision through experimentation with taslanising, this newest instalment presents CP Company’s latest bespoke creation, Taylon. The process by which yarns are passed through a high pressure air stream to add texture, the resulting finish is a material which feels more like a spun fabric. Engineered in both a lightweight variation which makes use of a 100% taslanised nylon for a matt finish, cotton like feel, the material is famed for its use by infantry personnel due to its easily camouflaged, non-reflective nature. These particular jackets however makes use of the ‘Pesante’ or ‘heavy’ alternative, a hybrid mixture of both taslanised and  monofilament nylon, it takes on a more substantial, almost woolen appearance, with the difference in sheen between each component making it perfect for garment dyed shades.

CP Company Taylon P Jacket

Making up the majority of its carrying capacity with two front zip patch pockets, the jacket also comes with smaller compartments to both the sleeve and waist for additional space. Presented in both a subdued black and vibrant red it boasts a removable branded velcro patch to the front as well as adjustable button cuffs for a more tailored fit. Gifted with intrinsic weather resistant properties and equipped with a fixed peak hood to help keep the elements at bay, the jacket comes finished with a built in face mask which can be stowed away, removed and deployed with ease at the wearers discretion.

CP Hat – Goggle Beanie

CP Hat or Google Beanie Review

CP Hats Goggle Beanies

Periodically it has been proven that certain brands produce a piece of clothing that the brand will forever be associated with. For example, Woolrich have the Arctic Parka, Stone Island – Tela Stella, Clarks Originals – the Desert Boots and CP Company have the Goggle jacket. So CP is riding the success of the goggle jacket in today’s culture by producing these CP Hats with built-in goggles.

It would have been easy for the brand to take any staple beanie hat and stick a couple of goggles on the front.  However, CP Company have produced a chunky ribbed CP Company Goggle Beanie Hat which is in essence produced to keep your head warm and incorporated the goggles to the front and reverse of the upturned part of the hat. Rather than just being strictly decorative, if you wish you could pull down the lip of the CP hat over your eyes and be able to see through the goggles. It is essentially for show but it’s nice to know that they are ‘working goggles’.

Everyone needs some chunky accessories for winter but not everyone suits the patterned prints that have become so popular in the last few years. Maybe a CP hat will be an option for you?  Priced at £95, it is available now online.

CP Company Air-Net Flock Printed Jacket | Available Now

Like fellow countrymen Stone Island, C.P. Company are no slouch when it comes to innovative and eye-catching textile treatments for their outerwear, and since their inception in 1975 have been a go-to for anyone looking to flex the pinnacle of military-inspired sportswear design.

For Spring Summer ’18, the brand have outdone themselves with a wild new fabric that combines a bold and unique aesthetic with the expected technical features that made their name: the Air-Net. Using the classic multi-filament Chrome nylon as a base, the fabric is then printed on the interior face with a three-dimensional honeycomb flock pattern, which serves the dual purpose of adding structure to the fabric, as well as creating an air pocket effect within the garment itself, capturing warm air to provide insulation to the wearer when worn with layers underneath. This also has the interesting side effect of absorbing colour during the garment dyeing process, leaving the pattern visible on the jacket’s external facing for a striking look.

The jacket itself is designed with modern looks and functionality in mind, boasting toggle adjustment tunnels to the hem, an anatomically shaped hood with two-way adjustment and stacked side pockets concealed by two-way zips which allows for easy access to essential items while keeping the lines of the piece sleek and clean. A utility pocket to the left sleeve finishes the piece, as well as housing the Lens Viewer device, giving a nod back to the brand’s iconic Mille Miglia Goggle jacket.

The C.P. Company Air-Net Flock Printed Jacket is available now alongside more pieces from the brand’s Spring Summer ’18 collection.
