The adidas EQT Support Mid ADV Returns in a New Street-Ready Colourway

Earlier this year, we welcomed the latest addition to adidas’ revamped EQT family, the Support Mid ADV, to our sneaker shelves here at Aphrodite. Its sleek lines, expert colour blocking and comfortable tooling made it something of a store favourite. Now, just in time for Spring, the silhouette returns in an eyecatching new colourway with some serious curb appeal.

The Story Continues: the adidas EQT Support Mid ADV Adds a New Chapter to their History

Back in the heady days of 1991, adidas was having something of a crisis of identity: Nike was dominating the running and lifestyle scene with its extravagant and flashy designs, giving consumers a taste of the future with their visible Air Max technology and vibrant colourways. As a direct response to this, the EQT line was launched under the eye of designer Peter Moore, with the philosophy of ‘Everything that is essential, nothing that is not’. True to this ethos, the EQT line was stripped down the bare essentials, utilising cutting-edge technology to deliver runners with shoes that were the antithesis of the attention-grabbing Nike designs; unfussy, low-key and with an economy of design that extended to the spartan colour scheme of black, white and ‘sub green’. It also debuted a brand new, modern logo that has been used for the brand’s Performance line ever since.

Fast forward to the present, and the 3 Stripes are about to drop the latest addition to the revamped EQT range, the adidas EQT Support Mid ADV, which pays tribute to the original EQT Support trainer from 1991 while using up-to-date tooling and technology. Beginning with a full Primeknit upper in the iconic EQT colour scheme, the EQT Support Mid ADV boasts premium nubuck accents to the medial sides, an embroidered heel support cage that mirrors that of the original, and the signature webbing 3 Stripe lace loops to the sides. All this rides atop a soft, compression moulded midsole for exceptional comfort, and is finished with EQT Support branding embroidered to the vamp and heel.

Boasting an altogether different look for the EQT series, this welcome new addition to the ever-growing family still channels that same spirit of essentialism and economy that was such a hit back in the 90s, while updating it to still feel fresh today. Expect to see more colourways of this in the near future, but it’s difficult to beat the appeal of the OG.

The adidas EQT Support Mid ADV in Black / Sub Green will be launching on Thursday the 8th of February, both in-store and online from Aphrodite Clothing.

From the Track to the Court: The All New adidas EQT Bask ADV

With culture’s current obsession with all things 90s, it’s no surprise that adidas’ EQT ADV line has seen such success from bringing vintage EQT running sneakers up to date with modern styling and fabrication. For the line’s first new release of 2018, the focus shifts from the track to the court, resulting in the first basketball inspired member of the EQT ADV family, the EQT Bask ADV.

Back in 1991, adidas released a basketball sneaker as part of its new EQT line of athletic gear, the aptly-named EQT B-Ball, which was notable for its multiple innovative performance features, including a fully removable neoprene sockliner, a first for the time. The EQT Bask ADV takes this sockliner as the basis for its sleek knitted upper, keeping it in line with the rest of the EQT ADV series, before setting it atop a substantial sole unit that’s inspired by the original.

Meanwhile, an asymmetrical heel cage and wraparound TPU support piece to the toe add striking visual details, and hits of colourful embroidery appear to the toe and heel. The shoe is finished with the signature EQT webbing 3 Stripes that continue into the moulded EVA sole, and are also shipped with two pairs of rope laces – one tonal, one multi-coloured – that let the wearer customise the look to their liking.

A welcome new addition to the EQT ADV family, the adidas EQT Bask ADV is launching in Black and Grey colourways on the 1st of February from Aphrodite Clothing.

adidas EQT Support ADV Winter | Grey & Scarlet | Launching 27th of October

The sock-fit sneaker has been one of the most popular and enduring trends in recent times, and it’s easy to see why: equal parts sleek and comfortable, technologies like adidas Primeknit and Nike Flyknit have changed the game when it comes to securing the ideal fit for your feet. Now adidas have taken the concept even further with the Winter edition of their ever-popular EQT Support ADV lifestyle sneaker, adding an extra-tall, ribbed textile sock to the ankle for additional support and protection against the elements.

The textured knit uppers are backed with a weather-resistant membrane to keep wind and water at bay, while TPU welding in key areas provides extra protection. Elsewhere we see the iconic heel support cage comes rendered in milled leather for a premium look, and the moulded EVA sole unit sports the brand’s signature 3 Stripe branding, continued from the webbing lace-stays on the uppers.

The shoe’s outdoor inspiration is rounded out with the inclusion of 3M reflective rope laces for some low-light flash. This brand new version of the modern classic is delivered in both a subtle grey and a bold scarlet colourway; whether you want to blend in or stand out on the streets this winter, adidas has you covered.

The adidas EQT Support ADV Winter in both Grey and Scarlet will be dropping on the 27th of October here at Aphrodite Clothing.

adidas EQT Support ADV | Core Black/Footwear White | Available Now

By now, the adidas EQT Support range should be familiar to anyone with a passing interest in sneakers. The revamped 90s styles have proven very popular since their introduction for their distinctive design features like the moulded sole unit, webbing 3 Stripes and heel support cage. This new drop highlights these features in a different way, utilising contrasting zig-zag stitching on the knitted mesh uppers in place of the iconic heel cage and toebox overlays, to deliver a sleeker, more crafted appearance. This coupled with the lightweight and form-fitting nature of Primeknit keeps things breathable for the unpredictable late-summer weather.
