DSquared Hats: Status-Heavy Street Style

DSquared Hats Set To Dominate SS20

When streetwear locked down the menswear industry a few years ago, no one could have predicted its long-standing stature, but like any stark shift that occurs within fashion, designers were to waste little time gaining access to the movement, turning out myriads of slick garments and accessories that spoke to the scene’s most stylish denizens.

Quick off the mark, luxury clothing label DSquared uncovered a penchant for the resurging urban landscape, and with that came a new-age in the street-ready zeitgeist. The brand’s products, which regularly carry the now-synonymous ‘ICON’ slogan, quickly gained immense traction, and DSquared hats became a standout style across the board; turning into an essential access point for every customer hoping to grasp the imprint’s sartorial prestige.

Utilising a classic baseball design, DSquared’s cap range can be found through almost every corner of the globe, gracing the crowns of athletes, celebrities, millennials and the fashion world’s elite, and luckily for you, we’re found ourselves in the possession of some of the designer’s latest headwear styles. Take a look below at what DSquared hats are on offer for the SS20 season, and if you find one that particularly pleases, don’t waste too much time deliberating, these caps don’t hang about for long!

CP Company Goggle Beanie Black

CP Company Goggle Hat | A Closer Look

The iconic CP Company Goggle Hat is a must-have investment for the wintertime. Designed with Italian craftmanship, inspired by racing drivers and synonymous with the terrace culture

History of CP Company

A company founded in Bologna, Italy, famous for its ancient Roman architecture, food and being the home of the godfather of urban sportswear Massimo Osti. CP Company founder Osti, a young graphic designer from Bologna changed the name of his original clothing brand Chester Perry which was famous for its screen-printed t-shirts, to C.P. Company in 1978. Osti continued to focus on the screen-printed t-shirts throughout the 70s while being intrigued by the Swiss field jackets to design a jacket that was stylish and multifunctionality. This creative spark led to the iconic googles design being added to the future CP Company products.

CP Company has become a household name over the last three decades, people fell in love with the iconic pieces such as the goggle jacket or the explorer jacket. CP has stayed true to its original design ideas of creating functional yet stylish pieces to wear every day. While the younger generations of fresh CP admires have created their own terrace culture of CP, rather than following a dress code they have formed a subculture to create a sense of community similar to the one found on football terraces.

The story behind the goggles

When Massimo Osti decided to move the lenses from the collar to the hood itself it was one of the best decisions CP Company have made in its 50-year history. The reason behind the decision was CP Company sponsored the 1988 edition of the Mille Miglia. A cross-country 1000 miles motor endurance race across Italy. Drivers needed a multifunctionality jacket that had large pockets for maps and a lens on the sleeve to allow the drivers to see their watches. Then finally the goggled hood to help the driver see the road when he had his hood up while driving. This striking design feature has now become synonymous with CP Company and is still seen in pieces today.

Cold Weather Essentials

It’s brass, the possibility of snow is inevitable and you can’t keep wearing all your clothes at once to try and stay warm. Desperate times call for desperate measures and what you need is some reliable, durable and protective gear to see you through mother natures worst. Robust denim, a Thick jacket, cosy beanie, tough boots and of course the all-important colourful socks. Behold, the answer to all your winter woes.

Winter Clothing

Unless you plan on hibernating until spring has sprung then the threat of snow looming on the horizon may have you shaking in your suede shoes. When it comes to cold, wet, generally unpleasant weather the truth is you just can’t go wrong with a premium pair of leather boots. We chose the Avoriaz Jannu from Paraboot. Handmade in France for the toughest terrain the boots feature a padded collar and tongue for exceptional comfort as well as a double-stitched Norwegian welt commando sole for grip, support and sturdiness. Top it all off with some heavy duty striped laces and a rich waxy brown colour for a touch of mature styling and watch your icey fears melt away. But, of course what is a good pair of boots without a really nice set of socks to go with them? Luckily for us our cold weather fellow northerners across the pond, Norse Projects have just supplied us a fresh batch of their twisted cotton yarn socks in yellow, purple and, the colour we decided to opt for, red. Very nice indeed.

Next on the list is a jacket. What jacket? The jokers among you may ask and for that, we’d give you a solid exhale from the nostrils and a firm shake of the head. But we aren’t here to joke around not when it comes to waiting for the bus in below freezing. We’re looking for water and wind resistance, a warm lining and plenty of embedded functionality, let us introduce you to the Wyndham parka from Canada Goose. With the brands signature down filling, a removable fur ruff lined hood, rib knit cuffs and a total of 6 pockets including, fleece lined hand warmers, the jacket is designed with extreme conditions and the coldest climates in mind. Finished with a two-way heavy duty zip with additional press stud flap and the Canada Goose patch to the arm this coat makes all the right moves when it comes to keeping you nice and toasty on your urban escapades.  Nipping out on a teabag run at work? No worries. Football match? See you there. The beach in -6°C? Lets do it.

Canada Goose Parka

For those of us who have ever got caught in the rain in a pair of sweatpants we know it’s less than ideal. Couple this with the harsh frost ladened winds and you’ve got yourself a pretty abysmal time by all accounts. Well, try not to beat yourself up too much because, as we all know, after the rain comes a rainbow, in this case, a rainbow pair of selvage denim from Edwin. Cut from a 12.8oz denim with a mid-rise and relaxed, tapered fit, the jeans are robust enough to last you a lifetime without sacrificing on comfort. Made in the Kuroki Mill in Japan the denim is complete with signature Edwin branding to the back and some delightful stitch detailing.

Edwin Rainbow Selvage Denim Jeans

Did you know the majority of your heat escapes through your head? Well, that’s what everyone reckons anyway. Regardless throwing on a beanie at this time of year is never not a good idea. To finish our look off we decided to go for some subtle matching, pairing an olive Canada Goose beanie with the tones found throughout the camo patterning. Made from a thick 100% wool for both a quality fit and insulating properties, it boasts the unmistakable Canada Goose seal of approval to the front ensuring everyone you pass on the streets knows you mean business.

Canada Goose BeanieSo there we have it some of our top picks to see you through to the summer. You can find all of the products shown above online and in store right now as well as a wide offering of other boots, coats, legwear and accessories.

Always striving to create styles that were both functional and stylish, Stone Island soon became famous for its use of innovative materials designer. Inspired by military design they soon became famous for their use of innovative materials that promised the same protection levels as outdoor technical brands, whilst still having a firm hold on the fashionable world.

This blend of supreme quality and desirably fashionable styles became a huge success, and piece of Stone Island design became instantly noticeable thanks to the iconic Stone Island compass sleeve badge. Such development saw some pieces from the label became more sought after than others, with the Stone Island jackets being a staple piece of winter wear, and the Stone Island hat becoming one of the key pieces for lovers of the brand during the hot summer months. With the Stone Island badge adoring the front, wearing a Stone Island cap became an affordable way to show an allegiance to the illustrious brand, whilst the Stone Island beanie hat enforced a similar appeal during the winter.
