Saucony Originals Hallowed Pack Release

The Halloween inspired Grid 9000 from Saucony Originals has landed in-store and is also available online in very limited numbers. Released as part of the eagerly anticipated “Hallowed Pack”, two colourways have been released and it doesn’t take much explaining as to where they got their inspiration from the colour palette.

Both shoes include the comfortable and supportive GRID technology built into the midsole and incorporate premium uppers in bold colours. Contrasting midsoles with a speckled design contrasting impeccably on this highly contrasting shoes.

Saucony x Sneaker Freaker Grid SD ‘Kushwhacker’ Release Info

The Saucony x Sneaker Freaker Grid SD ‘Kushwhacker’ is set to launch on Saturday 27 June 2015. Due to huge demand, we have decided that the launch will have no fixed time and instead, the shoe will drop online in very limited numbers at a random time on Saturday 27 June 2015. This will be an A.M (GMT) release and thus will be online before midday.

If you miss out on this release, we will keep you all updated via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as to whether we will be able to get any further stock as and when we know.

Saucony x Sneaker Freaker – Kushwhacker

Saucony’s lastest drop is a collaboration with online sneaker mag ‘Sneaker Freaker’ and brings us the ‘Kushwacker’. A follow up from the 2012 ‘Bushwacker’, the newest collaboration has been inspired by purple haze and is a remake of the iconic Grid SD silhouette. The Grid SD made its debut in 1991 and became an instant hit with all types of runners, combing contemporary styling with innovative technology.

Crafted from premium suede and mesh upper, the tonal purple base is complimented perfectly with black suede details and mesh finished with smoky grey suede wrapping the heel. The Saucony river mark logo can be seen to the side panel in tan suede, 3M reflective details have also been added to give a nod to the shoes running heritage, 2 tone rope laces, Sneaker Freaker woven tab to tongue finished with a creamy off white midole.

The Saucony x Sneaker Freaker Kushwacker’s will be available in very limited numbers on 27^th June.

Initially released as an exclusive in the US, the Saucony DXN Lodge Pack was a massive hit in the new year, and Aphrodite can now officially say we have managed to secure a very limited number in both the camo and wool styles. Based on the iconic 1980s iconic silhouette, the DXN Lodge Pack boasts all the key elements that made the style what it is, pushing the boundaries in innovation and sneaker design.

Originally designed by Rod Dixon, one of the most prolific runners of all time, the DXN shoe was born from a collaboration between Rod and Saucony after he won the New York Marathon in 1983. He wanted to design and create a running shoe that would be able to withstand the harsh demands of long distance running. The silhouette itself has been re-imaged many times with different colourways and materials throughout its history, and 30 years on its still being reinvented for the modern audience, bringing the history of the brand to the forefront of the design.

Playing homage to Rod Dixon and his roots to his home country of New Zealand, the DXN has been given a makeover of all makeovers for the Lodge Pack. Taking inspiration from the expansive land and wilderness of New Zealand where Rod once roamed, these sneakers will not look out of place during a forest hike or urban commute alike.

Coming in 2 colours – wool and camo, the wilderness and nature influence can instantly be seen in both shoes. The wool versions offers a clean grey aesthetic with insulation and wicking benefits where as the camo version has been give a hunter camo printed upper. Both pairs sit upon the Dixon midsole, a gum rubber outsole with enough grip to keep you on your feet in the harshest of weathers, crisp waxed laces to give a water resistant finish and arguably the best part of the design is the Long John Lining, to keep your toes toasty on the chilly nights. These are a unique sneaker that we are sure will be a massive hit on our site.

Nothing screams summer more than bold and brash sea hues on soft suede upper, and we all love a themed sneakers pack and the Bermuda from Saucony ticks all the boxes for this season’s must have.

The Bermuda Pack draws inspiration from the Bermuda Island, known for its distinctive mix of British and American Culture, and of course the picturesque the crystal sea lapping up the sandy shores. Who wouldn’t want to glance down at their sneakers and feel transported to tropical islands?

This pack features two of Saucony’s iconic silhouettes the DXN and the Shadow 6000, which only adds the headache of which style to spend your hard earned pennies on. Both pairs feature strong colour blocking in their suede uppers. The DXN boasts the logo in a contrasting white to the side panels, embroidered branding to the heel, perforated side panels and toe box, white midsole finished with tonal laces. While the Shadow 6000 key elements are the fabric tongue with Saucony branding, branding to the side panels and heels finished perforated side panels and toe box for extra breath-ability and comfort with tonal laces.

After the huge reaction to the first installment for the Saucony ‘Scoop Pack’, we can proudly announce the second segment of the collection will be a Vanilla and Strawberry colourway and we can certainly say these are set to be one of the must have trainers this season. Heavily inspired by summer, these trainers have been given the classic Strawberry and Vanilla ice cream colourway, adding that cool summer feel to your feet.

Based on the G9 Shadow 6 silhouette which is one of the brands most celebrated heritage profiles, these sneakers bring together the classic Saucony sole unit from the Grid 9000 with the upper from the Shadow 5000 and 6000, creating the G9 Shadow 5’s. This relationship was first tested in 2012 with great response, subsequently being brought to life through the collaboration with Boston based boutique Bodega in 2012. The buttery suede upper in a pink and red colourway is contrasted beautifully with the vanilla panelling to the heel and midsole. The ice cream theme continues throughout the design, including to the inner sole which boasts a melting ice cream cone, spoon detail to the tongue complete with 3 changeable laces all presented in a special box with cone wrapping adding authenticity to this extremely well executed pack.

The Saucony G9 Shadow 5 ‘Scoops Pack’ in Vanilla Strawberry will be officially released on Friday 15^th online and in-store.

Saucony G9 ‘Scoops’ Pack in Mint Chocolate Chip

Summer is fast approaching and it’s no doubt everyone is waiting patiently for a glimpse of anticipated sun. It’s the time of year where we hang up our winter jackets and start to put some colour into our wardrobes, along with other summery delights. With this there’s no surprise that Saucony’s latest release has been heavily inspired by summer and classic ice-cream flavours.

The silhouette of this tasty piece of footwear is based on the classic G9 Shadow 6 design, with the sole unit of the Grid 9000 and uppers from the Shadow 5000 and 6000. The G9 Shadow 6 silhouette is one of the most celebrated heritage silhouettes from Saucony, originally debuted in 2012 by a boutique called Bodega in Boston. Flaunting a buttery suede upper with mint and dark chocolate chip colours that give the trainer that ultimate summer feel. The midsole unit is carefully detailed with dark chocolate colour speckles and then wrapped up with a gum rubber outsole for more grip. Other specific features of the trainer include a soft sock liner for comfort, and additional laces to tailor the shoe differently.

Saucony Grid SD ‘Grid Games’ Released

Released on pre-order on Monday, the Saucony Grid SD ‘Grid Games’ Pack has now landed and is available to buy online as well as in the store. Arriving in two bold colourways, this retro 90’s runner is inspired by the 16 bit graphics consoles of yesteryear. Whether you opt for the teal or black versions, both interpretations of the Grid SD present bold elements that work beautifully against the base colour.

The GRID midsole cushioning system (Ground Reaction Inertia Device) helps to absorb the shock of each footstep and provide the stability you want from a running shoe. Sitting upon a Saucony Shadow 5000 sole, we expect the shoe to prove popular with fans of the label as well as regular sneaker enthusiasts looking for something aesthetically different.
