Aphrodite Days Out: Grinder Coffee

The fourth edition of our canny little series

Continuing our efforts to highlight some of the best local businesses around, we took to Grinder Coffee for a bite to eat and some… well, coffee. Dressed from head to toe in some of the freshest arrivals of late, we ventured out to the brand new city centre location where we must say, our expectations were massively exceeded.

Grinder Coffee prides itself on offering a safe inclusive space to enjoy some of the best coffee around, and their new location is perfect for exactly that. Situated in Hills Art Centre, you can enjoy a cuppa while checking out some of the quality, ever changing art that’s on display. With a massive menu to choose from, we couldn’t help but try as many goods as we could stomach. From bagels and ice coffees to warm drinks and croissants, we were thoroughly happy with what was served up to us. I mean, looking at the images while I write this blog is making me desperate to go back.

In true Aphrodite fashion we couldn’t just rock up in any old clothes, so we threw on some of our latest gear and made a stunning ‘fit, check it out below. Pairing a port red CP Company Tayon L overshirt with an essential white tee from Samuel Ross’ A-Cold-Wall, we created the perfect smart/casual look. As the sun is finally coming out we opted for some shorts, courtesy of Carhartt WIP, on the bottom half, and finished the look off with a timeless pair of New Balance 991’s

Sale Streetwear Edit – Top 3 Fits

We have strung together outfits from a wide range of designers, showing off Aphrodite’s vast range of brands and their versatility that will allow you to carry yourself into the upcoming seasons. How To Relax Your Home Wardrobe With Barbour Beacon

If you’re feeling like your sense of style is pretty limited at the moment, don’t stress – the whole world is with you on that one. Just like the rest of the globe, here in the UK a state of lockdown has imposed a ‘new normal’ for almost six weeks now, which has presented a whole host of unprecedented circumstances.

While we all continue to strictly follow the government guidelines and adapt to this new state of being, it seems that in the madness of it all, our wardrobes have hit the back burner. I’m sure you’ll agree that there’s only so many pieces which can be deemed ‘appropriate’ for home office working or that daily exercise allowance we all treasure… In fact, does anyone remember the last time they donned a pair of jeans? No, us neither.

With that said, we’ve taken a brief break from our new reality to help you implement a more relaxed approach to dressing with a helping hand from our trusty North-East neighbour, Barbour Beacon.

To start off we’re placing our attention on finding the ideal base layer. A Try-Fecta Of Striped adidas Goodness

Since we can remember the realms of sports and fashion have lived harmoniously side by side, think fish and chips, tea and biscuits, Batman and Robin – you get the idea. Whether it be with the inception of the old school sneakerhead desperate to scratch their trainer itch, the evolution of athletic streetwear or in more recent years, the adaption of performance footwear, tracksuits and other sporty garms as high fashion collection staples. Now we aren’t here to tell you if three soles make a right or if trackies belong on the runway but we are here to tell you about these incredibly nice rugby sweatshirts made by the good people over at adidas.

It seems 2018 was, among many things, the year the rugby shirt finally got the attention it deserved with more and more brands beginning to throw their proverbial hat into the polo shirt/sweater hybrid arena.
