Reasons To Buy The Nike Air Span II

The Nike Air Span II Combines Modern Technology With A Retro Design

The History Of The Air Span

The Nike Air Span was initially released in ’89 with the II following closely in 1990, they were a favoured choice amongst runners thanks to their combination of durability and style, whilst also being cheaper than visible Air selections, since then they haven’t been seen for quite some time, until earlier this year when they resurfaced again, making a bold statement with a host of vibrant and retro colourways. The vintage runner was placed in Complex’s top 50 running sneakers of all time with them stating that “this (Air Span II) deserves a reissue, just so a new generation can appreciate this road running creation. Nike listened and brought it back for all the OG sneakerheads to feel nostalgia and to show the new generation the power of the Span.

Nike has done an impeccable job of keeping the design virtually indistinguishable from the original design with the same materials and branding, but they have used modern technology to take the comfort to a whole new level and usher the runner into a new era by combining modern comfort with a retro style.

I have wanted these for a long time, so i bought the purple and the pink version. I cant say i am that impressed, not as comfy as i hoped they would be.
The vapourmax plus are a lot better! 🙁

Thanks for the feedback. What was it about the Vapourmax that you found better?

To be honest with you,I have the spans, epic react and vapors. The vapormax is my last choice when I go for comfort. Overhyped cameras legs get tired at the end of the day like u worn bricks. The spans are like my home Pantofos.

“The vapourmax plus are a lot better!” – LOL, those trainers have THE largest bubbles / air units of any trainers I’ve seen. I’d expect them to be the single most comfortable of any trainers, ever! Its like trying to compare a light air craft with the NASA space shuttle. Silly comparisons..

The SPAN II look fab – ordered 2 pairs – Black standard ones and Black SE ones with red and mini swoosh. Cant wait, very nice looking indeed. Cheers aphrodite1994.com for the history and info about these trainers. I think I barely recall them from back in the day. (my YOB is ’83)

Actually not silly comparisons, they are both trainers and both by the same company, if you are umming and ahhing it is nice to know which is better. However i have now had 6 months of wear and my feelings have changed. The Span II are my go to trainer and i do not wear the vapourmax. The Spans just needed a few weeks of bedding in, once i was past that they are the most comfy trainer i have had for ages. So much so i have ended up buying a second pair. :/

Well it has a been a year and a half and i still wear my original air span 2 trainers, quickly they are possibly my most favoured and worn trainer for a long time. The sole is just starting to work through now. Quite simply so comfy i cannot understand why i have not had them before now. Amazing shoe.
