Salomon XT6 Trainers in Black. First debuted in 2013 as a trail running shoe, the Salomon XT6 quickly became a favourite within the ultra-marathon community. It was built purely for performance, with visuals not quite being the lead focus for the French brand. Nonetheless, the dynamic shaping that holds the masses of functional technologies gives the trainer a unique aesthetic, and one that very recently has come to be adored.

The upper of the XT6 is crafted using an abrasion-resistant material that limits environmental wear and tear, and ensures long-term durability. This is further enhanced by a protective toe-cap that is added to the front of the style, as it provides protection from rocks and rubble to both the shoe and the wearer themselves. Salomon's Quicklace system is then added to the model allowing for easy adjustments and fast on, off-action, a lace pocket is also added to the tongue to swiftly store excess lacing.

Elsewhere in the upper SensiFit technology is integrated, giving the wearer a more personalised fit as it moulds around the foot to provide a snug and secure fit. This is then complimented by EndoFit technology, an internal sleeve that hugs the foot to further that secure and stable feel. Inside the XT6 Trainer, a moulded OrthoLite sockliner is fitted to mimic the contours of your foot and provide top-of-the-range breathability and cushioning to further push the performance characteristics of this model to its limits. 

Looking at the sole of the shoe now, an Agile Chassis System, otherwise known as ACS, is integrated into the midsole to provide stability and soften harsh impacts, it combines with the Eva foam Energy Cell midsole to then offer energy retention and propel the wearer forward - ideal for trail-running use!  The bottom-most part of the Salomon XT6 Trainer features a mud Contagrip sole, it is built for maximum grip on loose serfucases with a dep and rugged chevron traction pattern that is made from a rubber compound to provide first-class adhesion on the go.

A trail runner that has now also been adopted by the streets, the Salomon XT6 truly is an incredible shoe, and regardless of the intended use, you can be sure that the purpose-made model and its in-built technologies will provide a smooth ride for years to come.
