Fabricated through recycling nylon waste such as fishing nets, Econyl reshapes and remoulds the fabric yarn into a ready-to-weave product that possesses the same waterproof and windproof properties as any other nylon material. An internal resin treatment then further enhances the jacket's elemental resistance before it undergoes a double garment-dyeing process that offers an intense black tone, with varying depth across the metal nylon surface. The jacket then takes note of key archival pieces of the past, and takes inspiration from military field jackets: An array of button-down pockets decorate the front of the piece and a two-way Ykk zip and storm flap combine for on-off closure.
