A-COLD-WALL*

A-COLD-WALL*

New to the Aphrodite roster, A-COLD-WALL* offer the finest experimental jackets, cagoules and overshirts with a distinctive, urban streetwear aesthetic. Taking inspiration from working class Britain, A-COLD-WALL* was founded in 2015 by Samuel Ross, a young British designer who described his initial plans for the brand as 'an art project based on exploring the cultural melting pot of the UK'.

That 'art project' has since been reshaped into the streetwear must-have for everyone's wardrobes that it is now and it is all because of its conceptual yet wearable fashion. Taking inspiration from his childhood in Brixton, Ross brought his creations of colour, shapes and fabrics alive with A-COLD-WALL* and showed his interpretation of what art means through his garments. Whether it was showing this though the use of PVC or even mastering the runway show with models covered in grey body paint, Samuel Ross wanted to present his art and for it to show the oppressive class system in the UK, especially those effected as a part of modern black Britain.

To this day A-COLD-WALL* supplies many fashion concerned with a mix of elevated casual wear and tailoring and inspired by materials which remind Ross of where he grew up. In his AW18 collection, Ross created silhouettes inspired by construction site workers while using colours which he found in the National gallery.

At 25 Ross first shared his individual creations on Instagram, where it was very well received and led to the rise of A-COLD-WALL*, so much that the artist was able to work with Nike on an Air Force 1 collab the same year and claimed the status of a ‘designer to watch’ during his first collection at London Fashion Week. Now, the designers garments have been seen worn by the likes of Rihanna, Jaden Smith, Winnie Harlow, Michael B Jordan, and many more.
