Introducing Marni AW21 Menswear Collection

Here at Aphrodite, we’re no strangers to an Italian fashion house, we have a range of the country’s finest exports already dominating our roster, including DSquared2, Stone Island, and C.P. Company, and this year we’ve added another lauded Italian label to our collection. Going by the name of Marni, this ‘90s born, family-ran empire is rapidly changing the status quo of Milanese fashion and we’ve just buckled in to enjoy the ride.

Marni Menswear

Founded by Swiss designer Consuelo Castiglioni in the year of ‘94, Marni first set up shop in Milan – the home of Castiglioni’s husband (and now Marni CEO) Gianni Castiglioni. For a good few years the womenswear division at Marni made up much of its inception and it wasn’t until 2002 when Marni’s menswear department finally arrived. Since 2012, the imbalance between womenswear and menswear has been rectified. Only The Brave (Marni’s International Holding Group) acquired a greater degree of power over the business, resulting in the menswear division racking up a larger capacity within the core focus.

Unlike its Italian counterparts, Marni does away with ‘trend fashion’, choosing instead to experiment with colour and fabrication. In other words, this brand does not play it safe. Rejecting the mainstream is a brave move for any fashion brand but for this nineties baby, it sure has paid dividends. Billowy silhouettes, plush materials and an exaggerated colour palette blend to bring together the modern-day Marni aesthetic.

Marni Knitwear

The Marni AW21 Menswear Collection is awash with fuzzy fabrics thanks to creative director Francesco Risso; brushed alpaca and mohair both make their way into the accessories and knitwear offerings. Shopper bags are larger than life, available in glazed cherry hues and glossy blacks, go ahead and transport your goods in serious style when you purchase one of those nifty storage solutions. Tops are hooded and overtly slouchy, meaning they’re instantly street-approved – throw-on and enter urban dimensions.
