Introducing The Heron Preston New Trainers

Heron Preston is an artist, creative designer, content creator, clothing designer and DJ. Having become somewhat of a youth culture phenomenon amongst the Instagram generation, Preston’s journey actually started very humbly in New York. The San Fran-born artist moved to the city in 2004 to earn a BBA from Parsons School of Design, the number one design school in the U.S and among the top three globally. Whilst there, Preston documented characters from New York for a blog at the time, where he was connected with Virgil Abloh who was also doing the same for another project. Preston went on to work for Nike as a global digital producer. Whilst in 2012, Abloh along with Kanye West’s crew members, Mathew Williams and Justin Saunders, launched streetwear label Been Trill, during which time Preston began a collaboration with Kanye as an art director, where he designed everything from his tour merch to invites for Yeezy fashion shows.

In 2014 when Abloh started Off-White and Mathew Williams started Alyx, they introduced Preston to the New Guards Group, an Italian contemporary luxury fashion production and distribution holding company co-founded in Milan. Preston signed a deal for his namesake label and made a debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2017.

Since launching the brand in 2017, Preston has taken the fashion world by storm, having collaborated with the likes of Off-White, Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein. And the storm is brewing bigger thanks to the brand’s latest offering; the Heron Preston New Trainers in white.

Styled in a classic colourway and inspired by a classic sportswear silhouette, the New Trainer arrives in a classic leather fabric for durability with a luxury edge. Boasting a chunkier profile crafted with cream rubber trims and a white panelled design, Preston’s bold trainer features a contrasting branded heel counter in the label’s signature orange hue, inspired by workwear uniforms and a logo patch to the tongue for extra detailing. A thick midsole support is married alongside a perforated toe box which increases breathability, whilst the six eyelet lacing system secures the front lace-up fastening across the arch of the foot.

Whether you’re exploring the streets or on the dance floor, these versatile trainers can be styled with your favourite items depending on the occasion and the look you want to achieve. The simple and clean colourway allows you to style this pair with any colour and material. For a smarter look, these trainers can be easily styled with jeans and the Heron Preston Logo T-shirt in cream, bringing in the signature orange colour nuances at the sidewall of the shoe. If the weather starts to hit, we have you covered. Pair with the Heron Preston Eagle Print Gilet in black and orange for a smart, but prepared, look for this AW21. For the full look, here at Aphrodite, we have a selection of Heron Preston accessories including belts, socks and beanies to help you complete the look.
