Moncler Jackets

Bringing European style, class and craftsmanship to the casual outerwear wardrobe, French label Moncler have bought together utilitarian functionality and insatiable style in the form of the Moncler jacket.

Originally founded in 1952 as a brand to create products that could handle some of the harshest conditions on Earth, Moncler was based in the perfect location to instantly test their own products; this is down to their factory being built in a mountain village near Grenoble.
The brand’s founder was an innovator. He authored over 12 patents that involved everything from tents to sleeping bags; however, it took 2 years before the label began to experiment with the design that would make them iconic – the Moncler coat.

From the explorers on the way to climb some of the highest mountain peaks, to commuters wanting warmth and protection from the bleak winters, Moncler coats started to become a desirable commodity.

However, despite the overwhelming success the true potential of the Moncler jacket was yet to be reached. Finally when the French national ski team wore the brand’s coats to the Grenoble Winter Olympics, the transition from function to fashion was complete. Moncler jackets became instantly synonymous with slope side style, with everyone clamouring to get their hands on a Moncler coat to shop their roots lay firmly with the fashionable and the elitist European Alp skiing scene.
