adidas Ultraboost 20: Back To Black

adidas Ultraboost 20: One Bold Step For Mankind

Fans of dead comfy trainers and the final frontier rejoice, adidas have only gone and teamed up with the International Space Station to create the next evolution of Ultraboost endowed footwear. Officially dubbed the adidas Ultraboost 20, the sneakers take adidas’ passion for performance enhancing stompers to never before seen heights of scientific ingenuity, making them perfect for those either looking to improve their athletic abilities or add some futuristic options to their footwear resume.

Having enlisted the help of the ISS astronauts to test out their revered Boost foam moulding procedure without interference from pesky gravity, adidas hopes that the data collected will lead to further technological advancements in their upcoming runner lineup. Nike Air Max Tailwind IV: The ’90s Favourite Returns

Drop everything you’re doing, we have some exciting news for you; after nine months of endless trialing and impromptu teasing, the adidas x Human Made collection is finally upon us. Set for launch on the 5th of October, the capsule brings with it two romantic remakes of the iconic Solar Hu and NMD Hu trainers.

Both sneakers are already prominent pictures in Pharrell Williams’ collaborative line up with the Three Stripes label, in which styles regularly showcase the designer’s conceptual mindset and affinity for explosive hues. But, for the new season ahead, both the Solar Hu and NMD Hu opt for a drastically different look that’s peppered with the signature aesthetic of Nigo’s Human Made imprint and adidas’ advanced innovation.

Flanked by responsive cushioning, the adidas x Human Made Solar Hu chooses to turn its back on Williams’ audacious tones, instead, favouring a much more refined aesthetic at the base. Heading back to basics in all-white, the silhouette leans on the sock-like support of Primeknit up top, this knitted fabric not only ensures a breathable ride, but also encourages flexibility through every pursuit. And at the vamp, Nigo opts to position Human Made’s synonymous red logo to the core – vibrantly embroidered, the emblem holds the brand’s moniker close to its heart, while its beating lines represent adidas’ iconic three stripes.

Though the external form of the shoe has been treated to a 360° makeover, its functionality remains mostly the same. Bolstered by a boost™ midsole and a stabilizing Torsion system, the trainer lands and propels smoothly, while its continental rubber outsole provides superlative traction on the ground.

In like manner, the adidas x Human Made NMD is a shoe after the Solar Hu’s heart. With technology on its side, the trainer powers ahead with the same responsive boost™ cushioning, paired with moulded EVA midsole plugs anchoring both side panels for that signature NMD look. As well as the Human Made heart sitting to the vamp, this iteration also boasts the label’s ‘STRMCWBY’ logo, short for Storm Cowboy, to its leather heel panel. Internally, the design is finished with a colourful diagram that playfully maps out surrounding areas of the body, including the lungs, liver, stomach and so on.

Aphrodite 25th Anniversary Collaboration

To celebrate our 25^th Birthday we’ve teamed up with Oliver Spencer, Grenson and Nudie Jeans to bring you a limited-edition collaborative collection that not only pays homage to our newest milestone, but highlights the unique characteristics that have taken each of the veteran designers to the top of their respective games.

Having made shoes since 1866 not only does Grenson have a slight leg up on us when it comes to the sheer amount of years under their belt, but also when it comes to their ability to put together some undeniably top drawer footwear. No more evident than in this updated rendition of their M.I.E Sneakers, Grenson double down on their commitments to refined craftsmanship and precise construction, presenting a shoe that not only looks exceptionally easy on the eyes but perfectly embodies the British brand’s ethos and principals.

Championing the brand’s rich heritage history, the trainers use the traditional Goodyear welted method, a technique which Grenson has implemented for over 150 years which, despite being a more labour intensive and time-consuming process, yields significant improvements to both sustainability and durability. Made from a mixture of both smooth and grained tan leather for a hit of textural depth, they feature a contrasting rubber cup sole, script font detailing to the inner and an embossed Aphrodite moniker to the heel.

If outerwear is more your flavour Oliver Spencer may have just the thing. Known for their super contemporary cuts and traditional tailoring influences the London based brand has carved out a name for themselves when it comes to their seamless blend of both smart and casual sensibilities. Limited to 25 units, the jackets are presented In both an earthy olive and vibrant mustard colourway and boast a water repellent fabric as well as a number of paired back talking points including a signature press stud clasp, two-way zip and co-branded interior labels.

Last but certainly not least Nudie Jeans have not only treat us to a bespoke pair of their world-renowned denim but thrown in an exclusive graphic print t-shirt and tote bag for good measure. Using a robust selvedge denim, that’s made from 100% organic cotton, the jeans take on the brand’s tried and tested Lean Dean style sitting slim through the leg and tapering to the ankle. BALMAIN AW19: A Monochrome Masterpiece

Filtered through Olivier Rousteing’s monochrome state of mind, Balmain’s Autumn Winter ’19 collection is set to be a sumptuous head-turner.

In retrospect, although no one could have anticipated it at the time, 2011 would be the year to transform fashion forever. In Paris particularly, operations were following a startling shift; a then 25-year-old Olivier Rousteing had courageously taken the reins at the historic house of Balmain – a move that would go on to redefine fashion’s agenda for the foreseeable future.

In Rousteing’s celebrated eight years at Balmain’s helm, the house has firmly broken into the 21st century. The label’s lauded predecessors such as, Mr. Pierre Balmain himself, and Oscar de la Renta, had already cemented the house’s path to elegance, yet none had quite stirred up the contemporary appeal as that of Rousteing. In the seasons just before Olivier’s succession, Christophe Decarnin tried his talented hand at triggering modernity within the house, falling just short to that of Rousteing’s superlative standards.

Now, for Autumn Winter ‘19, the house calls on a plethora of diverse inspiration – sourced from far and wide. As-ever designs in the collection fuse contrasting themes of grunge and glamour; an aesthetic the label has become synonymous with under the guise of Olivier. Additionally, subtle Eastern influences gently unload into the capsule, no doubt much to the delight of the brand’s vast and loyal following on that side of the globe. And rounding off the lineup is Balmain’s first official foray into footwear; a collection sparking huge significance for Olivier Rousteing and a monumental touchpoint for the brand as a whole.

Kicking things off with a slew of luxe, monochrome pieces, the Autumn Winter ’19 capsule effortlessly blends the realms of luxury and streetwear. For example, the pairing of the brand’s velvet teddy jacket and branded hoodie here creates the perfect balance of sumptuous style and casual layering. Added accents, in the form of a baseball cap and the brand’s B-Troop Strap sneakers, signify the outfit’s obvious urban status, while the logo-laden aesthetic further unravels through simple base layers, including a short-sleeve signature tee and all-black trousers.

By insisting on the injection of sportswear cues throughout Balmain looks to not only hit a home run this season but also shoot some hoops on the hardwood and the proof is in this next outfit. With a sweatshirt that wouldn’t look out of place on the baseball field and the aptly dubbed ‘B-Ball’ sneakers on foot, the look is wholly sport-luxe.

The sweatshirt, in particular, unites Western and Eastern influences; not only does it shine the spotlight on one of America’s beloved batting games, thanks to its striped base and colour-blocking formula, but it also introduces Japanese design language into the mix – tooling Rousteing has displayed an affinity for in the past. Together with the distinctive cultural elements, an all-black Balmain belt bag gives the look a functional, finishing touch for urban dimensions.

The lack of ostentatious hues throughout the collection is sure to be welcomed by all those wishing to curate a versatile wardrobe, with plenty of pieces up for grabs that can be effortlessly mixed and match. The adaptability of the following look is demonstrated through its monochrome palette. Made up of a woollen blend sweater and taped joggers, the ensemble deliberately leaves bold colours behind for a sleek, street-led look which is without question cut for comfort.

Altogether, the Balmain AW19 collection makes a superb case for versatility. Unapologetically fusing together some of Nike’s most forward-thinking technology into a robust and character rich profile, the Nike VaporMax DM/S/X not only demands attention, but makes a powerful statement to all those who would dare challenge the Goddess of victory for the top spot on the innovation podium.

Taking an experimental design direction to it’s very limits, the trainers find their name rooted deep in the sportswear company’s rich history, cramming a plethora of technical detailing into their multi-faceted frames and making reference to when the Beaverton based brand almost found itself named Dimension Six. Nike Air Max 200: The Next Evolution

The Nike Air Max 200 joins the swoosh clad ranks

When one of the first trainers you ever made is selling for world-record breaking amounts we think it’s a pretty good indication that you know a thing or two when it comes to putting together some not too shabby footwear. Of course, it’s not like we needed anymore evidence from Nike especially not with their verging on intimidating lineup of culturally embedded sneaker silhouettes that include timeless classics such as the Air Max 1, 180, 95 and so forth. So, in the interest of not dwelling on the past too much or rehashing what is by now common knowledge amongst the sneaker orientated, we’d like to introduce you to the next step in Nike’s unrelenting journey to take air infused midsoles to their very limits.

Known as the Nike Air Max 200 this newest addition to the Air Max family combines some of the best bits from past and present Nike models with a hearty dose of new-wave advancement, resulting in a silhouette that is not only unique in its own right but feels wholly familiar at the same time. With uppers consisting primarily of mesh, that contours to the foot for improved breathability and comfort, the trainer boasts additional overlays to reinforce the foot and a TPU frame to keep things lightweight.
