Nike Air Max 200 Gets A Fresh Lick Of Paint

The Nike Air Max 200 just got a swanky new update check it out below…

Nike Air Max 200

Being creatures of habit and all that, it’s fair to say that change can be a bit scary. Like when the bus takes a slight unexpected diversion, you order something more adventurous from your favourite takeaway or perhaps, on a more related note, when one of your favourite Beaverton based sportswear brands decides to release and brand-new silhouette.

Nike Air Max 200 Trainers

Despite the first two no doubt inspiring feelings of sheer panic and guilt-ladened remorse, the third should do quite the opposite, especially when you take into account Nike’s proven track record of pumping out some of the finest progressive sneakers we have had the fortune of lacing to our feet.

Nike Air Max 200 Sneakers

Continuing the trend, the recently introduced Nike Air Max 200 stretches out a hand to even the most set in their ways sneakerhead, offering up enough innovation to satisfy that forward-thinking itch, whilst simultaneously keeping the brand’s core fundamentals close to hand.

Nike Air Max 200 Team Gold / University Red

Delivered in a fresh, “Team Gold / University Red” colourway and set atop a newly introduced air unit, the Air Max 200 utilises mesh which contours to the foot alongside a lightweight plastic frame to its uppers, keeping the sneakers lightweight, breathable and sleek. Elsewhere cushlon foam can be found to the midsole for improved comfort whilst a pull tab rounds out the athletically-driven design alongside a tastefully branded tongue and side swoosh application.

Get your hands on the Nike Air Max 200, “Team Gold / University Red” both online and in store at Aphrodite on 29/08/19.

Nike Air Max 200: The Next Evolution

The Nike Air Max 200 joins the swoosh clad ranks

When one of the first trainers you ever made is selling for world-record breaking amounts we think it’s a pretty good indication that you know a thing or two when it comes to putting together some not too shabby footwear. Of course, it’s not like we needed anymore evidence from Nike especially not with their verging on intimidating lineup of culturally embedded sneaker silhouettes that include timeless classics such as the Air Max 1, 180, 95 and so forth. So, in the interest of not dwelling on the past too much or rehashing what is by now common knowledge amongst the sneaker orientated, we’d like to introduce you to the next step in Nike’s unrelenting journey to take air infused midsoles to their very limits.

Nike Air Max 200 Trainers

Known as the Nike Air Max 200 this newest addition to the Air Max family combines some of the best bits from past and present Nike models with a hearty dose of new-wave advancement, resulting in a silhouette that is not only unique in its own right but feels wholly familiar at the same time. With uppers consisting primarily of mesh, that contours to the foot for improved breathability and comfort, the trainer boasts additional overlays to reinforce the foot and a TPU frame to keep things lightweight. Retaining a more streamlined, sleeker and sport-inspired appearance, the Nike Air Max 200 utilises a contrasting patterned-design with hits of yellow, green and red to the heel and sides for a generous helping of visual depth.

Nike Air Max 200 Sneakers

Below the trainers re-imagines the classic tubular technology sporting Nike’s biggest air unit to date alongside soft cushlon foam and a rubber outsole for exceptional levels of support, grip and return with a heel pull tab, padded tongue and embroidered branding bringing things to a tasteful, street-ready close. The Nike Air Max 200 launches both online and in store 01/08/19.

January Sneakers New Arrivals

January Top Picks – Sneaker Edition

By now, the novelty of the festive season is probably just wearing off; the weather is bleak, payday seems to be getting further and further away and work days inexplicably last longer than they seemed to pre-Christmas.

We’re with you, so to cheer you (and ourselves) up, we’ve decided to do a little round up of our favourite new sneakers that have already dropped for the SS19 season – because we love sneakers and these ones are part of the Summer season, which at this point feels like a distant memory.
adidas
First off, we go to the old classic, adidas. adidas have clearly been hard at work for this season as we have already had a plethora of sleek new silhouettes and colourways land for Spring/Summer 2019, with much more to come.

We’ll start with the brand-spanking new Yung-1’s. Last year’s chunky silhouette has been carried through to 2019, this time paired with a muted, pale grey colourway that is reminiscent of the Yeezy Salt collection that graced our eyeballs (and feet, if you’re lucky) late last year.

The Yung-1’s have been bold in their colourways in the past, however this time adidas have cleverly used contrasting textures and tonal colour blocking to ensure that the shoe remains bold yet understated. Paired with the adidas Torsion support outsole, the Yung-1 is the dad-shoe we all need in our lives.

Nike
It could be said that the sporting giant has, in the past, been somewhat overshadowed by adidas’ prowess within the sneaker market. However with their Virgil Abloh Off White collaborations selling out across the world, and a bunch of brave new silhouettes dropping in 2018, it’s obvious that Nike aren’t slowing down any time soon.

One silhouette that was much-talked about in the sneaker world, was the Air Max 270 Bowfin. Joining the infamous Air Max tribe (and surviving), is not an easy task. The first Bowfin was released early last year and after a few months to gain momentum on the sneaker scene, it has gone from strength to strength with a number of bright colourways now available.

Nike 270 Bowfin TrainersThe most recent drop is that of a Pumice and Cinder (or orange and purple for us mere mortals) colourway. Sitting upon Nike’s biggest air ‘bubble’ sole to date, the upper features a sock like design adorned in contrasting textiles and patterns making this trainer anything but subtle. Overall, the Bowfin adds bright but by no means garish colour to everyone’s favourite chunky silhouette, ultimately cementing its place in the Nike Air Max hall of fame.

Y3

Ah, Y3. Our favourite East-Asian export never fails to disappoint with their avant-garde styles and futuristic designs that push fashion to its science-fiction limits. We’ve been spoiled for the SS19 season with a number of new styles dropping into our laps, however we have to showcase our favourite; the Harigane II.

Y-3 Harigane II Sneakers

The silhouette first made an appearance last year, however Yohji has refreshed the shoe for an impactful New Year drop. Keeping the sculpture-like geometric sole and sharp shark-tooth outsole from last year’s style, the Hargiane II has been given a sleek upgrade with a lightweight Primeknit upper.  Topstitching and hand-stitched zigzag detailing give the Harigane II a premium quality that is simply a given when purchasing a pair of Y3 trainers.

Nike Air Max 270 Why It Is Here To Slay

Today we are going to look at the anatomy of the Nike Air Max 270 and list all the reasons why you should choose these as your next purchase.

Nike’s First Ever ‘Lifestyle’ Air Max

That’s right, every pair of Air Max that Nike has produced in their long history has been made for performance purposes, the 270 is the first of its kind as Nike stated that these focus on Lifestyle elements, however, they still retain the performance elements, with the ever-present visible air unit and foot-hugging Neoprene upper.

They Feature Nike’s Largest Air Unit

By largest, it doesn’t mean length-wise. No, no, the Air Max 270 features the tallest air unit ever made, standing at 32mm high, giving the wearer the most cushioning bounce that Nike can give you, making these the ultimate street cruiser.

What Are The Benefits Of Wearing The Nike Air Max 270

There are many benefits you get from choosing to wear these, comfort and style are the general points, but we will take you into depth to fully show how everything has been thoroughly considered to provide you with the best wear.

  • The zoned mesh upper offers structure, movement and breathability in all the crucial places.
  • The bootie-neoprene construction gives you a sock-like feel when wearing them.
  • Moulded foam wraps the ankle and heel giving you extra support and padding.
  • The Air Unit offers the largest heel volume displacement for a soft cushioning bounce with every step.
  • Rubber Tipped toe offers a resistant material in high-wear areas, making them look better for longer.
  • Flex Grooved outsole for enhanced flexibility giving a natural motion when on the move.

Drake Rocks Them (Enough Said)

If they’re good enough for him to wear, then they should be good enough for most of you out there, he has recently been seen rocking two unreleased colourways in his God’s Plan music video. Did you spot them? If not we have a shot of them here for you. He is seen rocking two all-black colourways that feature a splash of colour on the heel. If you like the look of these we have a pair of 270’s arriving in an ‘Oreo’ colourway on the 12th of April, so keep an eye out on our social media channels for those.

Nike Air Max Cushioning — How It Works

Nike are well known for being front runners in new innovating technology to enhance every single step you take. It is hard to imagine a world without the iconic Nike Max Air cushioning, but rewind back to 1979, when disco was king, and the inventor Frank Rudy pitched his idea to Phillip Knight. Rudy was a former aerospace engineer, making him the perfect candidate to blueprint a technology to create maximum impact protection. Nike and Rudy designed and patented the first Air-Sole unit and we have been forever in-debt to them for introducing to a completely new cushioning system.

Nike Air technology is a lightweight and innovative durable cushioning system  that maintains a high level of performance for the full life of the shoe. Not ones to let their ideas become stagnant, Nike have refined and designed different Air-Sole units over the years, to provide unique performance benefits to each style.

So I’m sure you are pondering now, how does it work? Pressurised air inside a tough yet flexible urethane bag compresses on impact to reduce the force and immediately recover to its original form, offering energy return. Like a box of chocolates, there are many specialised Air-Sole units to choose from, that offer specific performance needs for different sports, athletes, terrain, distances, speeds and directions of movement, I’m sure if needed they could make one for moon-walking. To cater to all of the different needs the Air-Sole units are all engineered the pressure, placement and thickness needed.

So what else makes them so special? Well they are lighter per unit volume than many other midsole cushioning systems on the market. In comparison to the classic foam midsole, they are more resilient and more durable, making it a winning formula.

Nike LD-Zero – Black – Air Max Day 2017

Nike Air Max Day

Nike’s celebration of all things Air is once again upon us, and the Swoosh have a steady stream of treats lined up. As part of last year’s event, Nike enlisted the help of Hiroshi Fujiwara, legendary head of cult label Fragment Design and part of Nike’s cutting edge HTM design team, to create a brand new silhouette: the LD Zero. Fusing an upper design based on Nike’s LD-1000 running shoe from the 1970s with the full-length 360 Air sole unit first introduced in 2006, the new model blended the simple, unfussy design of the LD-1000 with cutting-edge Nike tech to create an instant classic.

Nike LD Zero Trainers

This year the LD-Zero returns for its one-year anniversary, this time decked out in a sleek all-black colourway with dark grey accents. The technical specs of the original remain intact: lightweight mesh uppers with synthetic suede overlays, cushioned footbed with breathable mesh and premium leather linings, Flywire lace stays for extra support throughout the forefoot, and a sole unit with full-length visible Air bubble for that walking-on-air comfort and a strikingly modern look. Finished with a vintage-style tongue label as a nod to its classic DNA, this drop marks yet another high-point in the Air Max Day release calendar for 2017.

Nike LD Zero

The Nike LD-Zero in Black will be available from Aphrodite Clothing on Air Max Day: March 26th, priced at £135.00. These will also be available to pre-order on Saturday 25th March 2017 in-store only.

Nike Air Max 90 Ultra 2.0 Flyknit

Air Max Day 2017: Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit – Releasing 2nd of March

As Nike Air Max Day approaches, all eyes are on the Swoosh’s offerings for the 30th Anniversary of the Air Max 1. But that doesn’t mean the iconic runner’s younger sibling gets left out of the festivities, as the Air Max 90 is getting the Ultra Flyknit treatment in a number of colourways, including the must-have OG ‘Infra Red’. If you’re after a classic sneaker with lightweight, modern construction, Nike may just have the solution.

Nike Air Max Ultra 2.0 Flyknit

Always a popular style since its original release in 1990, Air Max 90 releases are always an event on the calendars of sneakerheads and collectors. Following on from the NikeLab versions earlier this year, Nike have now made up the classic silhouette in breathable flyknit uppers with fused overlays, sitting atop the cored-out Ultra midsole for an overall lightweight construction that will be perfect as the days start getting longer, while still maintaining the fan-favourite design with the famous midsole bubble with the distinctive contrast ‘frame’.

The main event is of course the return of the always-coveted ‘Infra Red’ colourway, with its monochrome white, grey and black uppers punctuated by pops of bright crimson that always turns heads. The release also comprises of the popular Black and White ‘Oreo’ and stealthy ‘Rough Green’ olive makeups. Check out more pictures below and look out for the release of all three colourways on March 2nd at Aphrodite1994.
